How can I find out what a particular computer term means... ?Most computer terms are acronyms that stand for a phrase as: PC means Personal Computer. Click here to go to a searchable list of computer terms.
What kind of computer do you recommend?... ?Most of the brands of computer are perfectly fine to own. As with all things, there may be a future price associated with the least expensive product a manufacturer has to sell. I recommend buying at least one notch up from bottom of any computer line. In my experience making computers, new and old, work together, it is best to try to have them be all the same brand. It is very likely that you will eventually own several computers and I have had the best luck working with Compaq computers in a networking type situation (more than 1 computer hooked together doing the same thing but in different locations). Compaq places extra effort in supporting their older computers, even their home computers (cheaper) are supported to the same extent as their business models. This has impressed me in the past and so, for myself, I will elect to get a Compaq whenever possible. I use my computers for business and I want a stable, compatible machine that is supported by a major manufacturer even though it may be out of warranty. Compaq does this for me. This does not mean that the other manufacturers won't give you good support, this is just my preference based on my experience. Back to Top
Where can I find reviews on the different kinds of business software... ?The best thing to do is to ask someone who is in the same business what he or she uses and if they recommend it.
